Sukhoi Su and Superior Pal collided soon after the start. Sukhoi Su checked off Superior Pal at the 150m mark. Shirdale Casey and Inter Helen collided approaching the 100m mark. Superior Pal and Lady Simmeron collided approaching the winning post checking Medium Rare. Lady Simmeron clipped the heels of Chase 'Em Spolly approaching the winning post checking Chase 'Em Spolly. Lady Simmeron and Shirdale Casey collided approaching the winning post.
A post-race sample was taken from Chase 'Em Spolly - second placegetter in the event.
Chase 'Em Spolly underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have minor spike wounds to all paws. A 3 stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to the Mr G. Dalton, the trainer of Chase 'Em Spolly and issued a warning regarding the greyhound’s race manner approaching the winning post.
