Kennels closed at 11.21am to allow additional arrival time for Trainers following heavy congestion on the Western Ring road due to two magor vehicle accidents and a factory fire in Campbellfield.

Lisa's Edge and Firework Joey collided soon after the start checking Firework Joey. Got Some Zip and No Problem John collided at the 150m mark checking Got Some Zip, No Problem John and Miss Cheekiness. Got Some Zip and No Problem John collided approaching the 50m mark checking No Problem John and Plain Name. Dezzy Driver eased approaching the winning post.

Dezzy Driver underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr J. Formosa, the representative of  Dezzy Driver regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Dezzy Driver was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Dezzy Driver is suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Happy As Larry – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is resuming racing following a change in kennels.

Iceni Skye underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Ms S. Gray the representative of Iceni Skye, regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Iceni Skye was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Ms Gray pleaded guilty to the charge, Iceni Skye must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr T. Interligi failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Miss Walt for racing.  Mr Interligi was reminded of his responsibilities pursuant to GAR 46(2)

Stewards conducted an Inquiry into an incident at the 300m boxes after Steward - Mr Ian Kennedy, averted Mr Neil Mason from boxing greyhound No 3 - Qatar Girl into Box No 2.  Stewards subsequently issued a warning to Mr. Mason and told him to be more mindful in future when boxing greyhounds.
