Steward's Report
Miss Rampe – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a front left toe injury.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Miss Rampe, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Bastian Bale and Rapid Revenue were slow to begin.
Merriview Benny and Mitta Mitta collided on the first turn checking Merriview Benny. Had To Listen and Miss Rampe collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Rapid Revenue checked off Mitta Mitta approaching the home turn. Dezzy Driver and Merriview Benny collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking Merriview Benny. Bastian Bale failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post, impeding Supasonic Saz.
Stewards spoke to Mr D. Trewin, the representive of Bastian Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Bastian Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr D. Trewin pleaded guilty to the charge, Bastian Bale is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Merriview Benny underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Miss Rampe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Bastian Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Mr. D. Trewin declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.
