Steward's Report
Kennels closed at 1:47 PM after trainer Gary Mannion communicated with Stewards that he rendered assistance to a motor vehicle accident en-route to the track.
Four Keeps and Midnight Gieger were quick to begin. Midnight Swim and Full Of Rage were slow to begin.
Pandora's Glory and Figure Eight collided approaching the first turn. Full Of Rage brushed the running rail on the first turn. Figure Eight checked off Full Of Rage on the home turn. Pandora's Glory and Midnight Gieger collided on the home turn checking Midnight Gieger and Blue Cigar and severely checking Pandora's Glory which fell as a result. Four Keeps and Figure Eight collided approaching the winning post.
Due to a technical malfunction, the time for this event was initially semaphored as 22:67 however changed to 22:85. The Judge subsequently handtimed the event and confirmed the correct time as 22:68.
Figure Eight underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr A Xerri representive regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Figure Eight was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr A Xerri pleaded guilty to the charge, Figure Eight must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Pandora's Glory underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.
A post-race sample was taken from Full Of Rage - the winner of the event.
