Trainer Delaine Vigor was questioned regarding the scratching of Severus Grange in this event as this enabled Myrtle Grange, who is owned in the same interests, to gain a start. Ms Vigor was directed to bring Severus Grange on course to verify the injury. Severus Grange was examined by the On-Track Veterinarian who confirmed the injury. 

Eureka Osti was quick to begin. Dorothy Dawn was slow to begin.

Simmo Gogolac placed 4th in a field of 5 beaten by 15.5L Simmo Gogolac has been cleared to race at all tracks except The Gardens.

Madame Butterfly – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory trial as the greyhound has not competed in an event for in excess of six months due to a left back muscle injury.  Weighing 28.7kgs and beginning from box 5, Madame Butterfly was galloped on approaching the first turn and tailed off. Underwent a post-trial examination and was found to have sustained a right back muscle injury. A 28 day standdown period was imposed.
