Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Cooper Dan engaged in this event on 18/01/19 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Simon Payne, representative of Diesel's A Rebel declared a new weight of 35.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Diesel's A Rebel last raced at 33.9kg.
A pre race sample was taken from Diesel's A Rebel.
Cooper Dan was quick to begin.
Murrabit Benny checked off Diesel's A Rebel soon after the start. Avatar Maximus checked off Done It Again soon after the start. Mack Trident checked off Mossy Girl soon after the start. Diesel's A Rebel checked off Mossy Girl approaching the first turn. Cooper Dan eased entering the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr A. Mcdowall, the handler of the greyhound Cooper Dan, regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Cooper Dan was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to left and right monkey muscles and a cervico-thoracic injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Cooper Dan with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr A. Mcdowall pleaded guilty to the charge, Cooper Dan was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
