Dyna Carnage and Hallelujah Henry were slow to begin. Hallelujah Henry and Majestic Lee collided approaching the 200m mark. Premier Event and Black Selandra collided at the 200m mark, and again at the 150m mark. Hallelujah Henry and Majestic Lee collided at the 100m mark. Dyna Carnage, Majestic Lee and Hallelujah Henry collided several times from the 100m mark until the winning post, checking all three greyhounds.
