Bill Dodger crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Pennsylvania Is, Bold Faith and Highfield Romeo. Big Bad Tom and Normy McShuffle collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Big Bad Tom, Bar No Comment and Bold Faith collided at the 300m mark, checking Normy McShuffle. Normy McShuffle stumbled approaching the 250m mark. Highfield Romeo, Bold Faith, Big Bad Tom and Bar No Comment collided approaching the 250m mark, checking Bold Faith and Big Bad Tom. Highfield Romeo checked off Bar No Comment at the 200m mark, checking Night Keeper. Bold Faith and Big Bad Tom collided several times from the 150m mark until the 100m mark. Highfield Romeo and Big Bad Tom collided approaching the winning post.
