Steward's Report
Lockrod was quick to begin. Kraken Smiles, Sable Sass, Ruby Rads, Katlin and Mayhem Breeze were slow to begin. Kraken Smiles, Sable Sass, Katlin and Mayhem Breeze collided on the first turn checking Sable Sass, Katlin and Mayhem Breeze. Kraken Smiles and Ruby Rads collided in the back straight checking Kraken Smiles. Sable Sass and Katlin collided approaching the home turn checking Sable Sass. Kraken Smiles, Sable Sass and Mayhem Breeze collided on the home turn checking Kraken Smiles and Mayhem Breeze. Liberal Nunnio eased in the home straight and collied with Lockrod, checking Lockrod.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Klemke, the trainer of the greyhound Liberal Nunnio regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Liberal Nunnio was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to a right wrist sprain and spike wounds to the fore and hind paws, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Liberal Nunnio with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Klemke pleaded guilty to the charge, Liberal Nunnio was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
