Steward's Report
Tiggerlong Ray was a late scratching at 11.38AM due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Glenn Campbell was fined the sum of $100.
A pre-race sample was taken from Leeroy Rox upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Lonesome Spring was slow to begin.
Chase The Nugget and Miss Congenial collided soon after the start. Supa Shalala, Miss Congenial, Chase The Nugget and Leeroy Rox collided approaching the first turn checking Chase The Nugget and Leeroy Rox. Miss Congenial checked off Supa Shalala approaching the first turn. Supa Shalala checked off Topaz Warrior on the first turn. Leeroy Rox and Miss Congenial collided approaching the home turn. Midnight Storm and Topaz Warrior collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds. Miss Congenial and Lonesome Spring raced wide in the home straight.
After acting on their own observations and viewing the head on footage of the home straight, stewards concluded that Topaz Warrior and Midnight Storm collided in the home straight causing Topaz Warrior to become unbalanced for several strides.
A sample was taken from Topaz Warrior - the winner of the event.
Leeroy Rox was vetted following the event at the trainer's request. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a injury to the right foreleg webbing, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
