Matesy's Girl and Horey's Prince were quick to begin. Judge Judy was slow to begin.
Pyrenees Classic and Janray Tigerlily collided approaching the first turn. Matesy's Girl, Horey's Prince and Charlie Bear collided on the first turn checking Matesy's Girl and Charlie Bear. Judge Judy, Charlie Bear and Serendipity Girl collided approaching the home turn checking Judge Judy and Charlie Bear. Pyrenees Classic checked off Horey's Prince approaching the home turn checking Matesy's Girl. Judge Judy failed to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the winning post. Judge Judy and Charlie Bear collided approaching the winning post.
Judge Judy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury and spike wounds to the right hind foot and left hindleg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr A Debattista, the handler of the greyhound Judge Judy regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Judge Judy with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Debattista pleaded guilty to the charge, Judge Judy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
