Steward's Report
Rocky Bale was a late scratching at 8.32am due to injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr Joseph Briffa, representative for trainer Ms Jenny Hunt regarding the timing of the late scratching of the greyhound Rocky Bale. Mr Briffa explained that he was given a direction to scratch the greyhound at 8:28am, by the time he had made contact with GRV and the scratching was completed he was advised that it was a late scratching. Stewards accepted Mr Briffa's explanation and reminded him of his responsibilities in relation to GAR 23 (appointed scratching time). Stewards will also be contacting the trainer, Ms Jenny Hunt to remind her of her responsibilities in relation to GAR 23 (appointed scratching deadline).
Morningside was a late scratching at 6.38pm due to non arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr J Karamatic was fined the sum of $100.
Lollipop Bling, Quell Bale and Go Jetta Go were slow to begin. Wise Chief, Go Jetta Go and Jet Plane collided approaching the first turn, checking Wise Chief and Go Jetta Go. Wise Chief and Go Jetta Go collided on the first turn, checking Go Jetta Go. Lollipop Bling and Go Jetta Go collided on the second turn, checking Go Jetta Go. Quell Bale and Speed Lane collided on the fourth turn, approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, checking Speed Lane. Wise Chief and Go Jetta Go collided entering the home straight, checking Wise Chief.
