Crowdza Captive was quick to begin.  Tyra Giselle and Oxley Delight collided on the first turn.  Delta Bolt faltered on the first turn, severley checking Oxley Delight and Babylon; Delta Bolt tailed off as a result.

Delta Bolt was vetted and re-vetted following race 5.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right back muscle tear.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Shortly after the event the semaphore board malfunctioned and displayed the incorrect time.  This was immediately corrected to 29.47.

Fuzzy Buzzy was quick to begin.  Grand Reward was slow to begin.  Grand Reward and Becci Leone collided soon after the start, causing Becci Leone and Our Spotty to collide.  Lover Lover and Fuzzy Buzzy collided soon after the start.  Grand Reward crossed to the outside on the second turn, severely checking Our Spotty and Redding.  Soho Senorita and Becci Leone collided entering the back straight.  Soho Senorita and Fuzzy Buzzy collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

Oscar Keeping was slow to begin.  Usagi Bale and Gemstar collided approaching the first turn.  Oscar Keeping, Gemstar, Vee For Vegas and Lektra Happy collided on the first turn.  Oscar Keeping checked off Usagi Bale on the third turn, causing Oscar Keeping to fall. 

Oscar Keeping was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left hind toe and right shoulder.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Vee For Vegas was vetted and re-vetted following race 6.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the left hind and soreness to the left metatarsal.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Laura Allen was quick to begin.  Whatta Joke, Charmed Assassin and Dyna Tony collided soon after the start, checking Charmed Assassin.  Whatta Joke and Charmed Assassin collided approaching the first turn.  Rockadore and Oomoo collided approaching the first turn.  Dodge The Batten, Whatta Joke and Charmed Assassin collided on the first turn, checking Whatta Joke.  Laura Allen and Charmed Assassin collided approaching the second turn.  Whatta Joke checked off Charmed Assassin in the back straight.  Mario Chief checked off Laura Allen on the third turn. 

Rocky Bale was a late scratching at 8.32am due to injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr Joseph Briffa, representative for trainer Ms Jenny Hunt regarding the timing of the late scratching of the greyhound Rocky Bale. Mr Briffa explained that he was given a direction to scratch the greyhound at 8:28am, by the time he had made contact with GRV and the scratching was completed he was advised that it was a late scratching.  Stewards accepted Mr Briffa's explanation and reminded him of his responsibilities in relation to GAR 23 (appointed scratching time).  Stewards will also be contacting the trainer, Ms Jenny Hunt to remind her of her responsibilities in relation to GAR 23 (appointed scratching deadline).
