A pre-race sample was taken from Professor Gold upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Split Pea was quick to begin.

Miss Zok Dee checked off My Bro Black on the first turn and collided with Hashtag Spolly severely checking Miss Zok Dee and Hashtag Spolly, Miss Zok Dee stumbled and lost ground as a result.  Professor Gold and My Bro Black collided on the first turn checking My Bro Black.  Split Pea and Professor Gold collided approaching the winning post.

Miss Zok Dee was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A pre-race sample was taken from Cee Me Entertain upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

El Burrito, Cee Me Ignite and Ebony Lakes collided soon after the start.  Tiwi Magic and Chase's Entity collided approaching the first turn.  Crackerjack Man galloped on Tiwi Magic on the first turn checking Crackerjack Man and severely checking Tiwi Magic.  Ebony Lakes and Cee Me Ignite collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

Tiwi Magic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury and a right back muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Daisy Me Diggin' was a late scratching at 7:20am due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

New Fire Girl and Terrah Round were quick to begin.  Modern Jagger was slow to begin.

Mr D. Agius, the representative of Drama Club declared a new weight of 30.3kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Drama Club last raced at 28.9kgs.

Dewana No Secret was quick to begin.  Blueflash Lenny and Lingua Franca were slow to begin.

Spur was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist sprain, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Gracie's Colour and Our Centurion collided soon after the start.  Brandi Belle and Cullquin Abbey collided approaching the first turn checking Brandi Belle.  Shakin' Brave and Our Centurion collided approaching the first turn.  Brandi Belle and Shakin' Brave collided on the first turn checking Shakin' Brave.  Our Centurion clipped the heels of Oz Wizard approaching the home turn.  Shakin' Brave and Gracie's Colour raced wide in the home straight.  Brandi Belle and Our Centurion collided approaching the winning post.

Lightning Parade was quick to begin.

Why Not Macca and Seeka Moment collided approaching the first turn.  Midnight Muscat and Little Freck collided on the first turn.  Just Jimmy and Dr. Zammit collided approaching the home turn.  Why Not Macca galloped on Seeka Moment on the home turn.  Why Not Macca and Lightning Parade collided entering the home straight.  Why Not Macca, Lightning Parade, Dr. Zammit and Oni collided in the home straight checking Lightning Parade and Dr. Zammit.

Stewards spoke to Handler, Ms S. Combridge after she retrieved the incorrect greyhound from the kennel bay prior to this event, which in the opinion of the Stewards was negligent.  Stewards subsequently charged Ms Combridge with breach of GAR 86(0)  Ms Combridge pleaded guilty to the charge, was found guilty and fined the sum of $100.00. In assessing the penalty Stewards took into consideration Ms Combridge's guilty plea, her good record and general deterrence. 

Stewards spoke to kennel attendant Ms. R. Lott in regards to the incorrect greyhound being retrieved from the kennel bay prior to this event. Stewards issued Ms. Lott with a severe reprimand and referred the matter onto appropriate management. 

Stewards spoke to Mr T. Whitford, the trainer of Allen Varmint regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Allen Varmint last raced on 22 March 2018 and is returning from a change of kennels.  Mr Whitford also declared a new weight of 32.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Allen Varmint last raced at 30.6kgs.

This event was delayed by 2mins 10secs due to an unrestrained domestic dog on the outside of the trotting track.

Dr. Luvdisc and Dr. Eleonora were slow to begin.

Allen Varmint crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Speedway Lass, Soap and Courage Crest.  Allen Varmint and Make It Happen collided on the first turn checking Make It happen.  Dr. Eleonora and Make It Happen collided in the home straight checking Dr. Eleonora.  Allen Varmint tied over the concluding stages.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr T. Howell, the trainer of Daicos regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Daicos last raced on 23 November 2017. Mr Howell stated that the greyhound was returning from a triangle injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Daicos trialled over the 400mtrs from box 1, weight 30.4kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.40, the greyhound won by a margin of1 ¾ lengths. Daicos was Cleared.
