A pre-race sample was taken from Seeka Moment.
Lightning Parade was quick to begin.
Why Not Macca and Seeka Moment collided approaching the first turn. Midnight Muscat and Little Freck collided on the first turn. Just Jimmy and Dr. Zammit collided approaching the home turn. Why Not Macca galloped on Seeka Moment on the home turn. Why Not Macca and Lightning Parade collided entering the home straight. Why Not Macca, Lightning Parade, Dr. Zammit and Oni collided in the home straight checking Lightning Parade and Dr. Zammit.
Stewards spoke to Handler, Ms S. Combridge after she retrieved the incorrect greyhound from the kennel bay prior to this event, which in the opinion of the Stewards was negligent. Stewards subsequently charged Ms Combridge with breach of GAR 86(0) Ms Combridge pleaded guilty to the charge, was found guilty and fined the sum of $100.00. In assessing the penalty Stewards took into consideration Ms Combridge's guilty plea, her good record and general deterrence.
Stewards spoke to kennel attendant Ms. R. Lott in regards to the incorrect greyhound being retrieved from the kennel bay prior to this event. Stewards issued Ms. Lott with a severe reprimand and referred the matter onto appropriate management.
