Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Martinovic, the kennel representative for Big Bubbles, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Big Bubbles last raced on 18 April 2018. Mr Martinovic stated that the greyhound was returning following an injury to the right gracilis (back) muscle.
A pre-race sample was taken from Let's Run.
Mepunga Bonnie was slow to begin.
Why Not Lola and Dyna Drew collided soon after the start. Birkenhead and Big Bubbles collided approaching the first turn, checking Birkenhead, Bloke's Advice, Why Not Lola and Dyna Drew. Mepunga Bonnie checked off Bloke's Advice approaching the home turn.
Birkenhead was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on the left hind foot. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms Rebecca Romyn regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Bloke's Advice. Stewards directed that Bloke's Advice be boxed first in future events.
