Stewards spoke to Ms S. Reaper, the representative of Habana City regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Habana City last raced on 11 April 2018 and is returning after injuries to both wrists.
A pre-race sample was taken from Creative Love.
Miss Gippsland was quick to begin. Habana City was slow to begin.
Supercity Star, Dr. Zammit, Eden Monaro and Maireana collided soon after the start. Creative Love and Eden Monaro collided approaching the first turn. Creative Love and Miss Gippsland collided approaching the home turn checking Miss Gippsland. Eden Monaro, Habana City and Maireana collided on the home turn. Creative Love checked off Dr. Zammit on the home turn. Creative Love eased in the home straight and lost ground.
Stewards spoke to Mr K. Podmore, the representative of the greyhound Creative Love regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Creative Love was vetted and re-vetted following event 9. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury and left shin soreness, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Creative Love with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Podmore pleaded guilty to the charge, Creative Love was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
