The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Prince Ferno and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 11:30am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr C. Fulford was fined the sum of $100.

Mr C. Constantinou, trainer of Annabelle Lee declared a new weight of 24.7 for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Annabelle Lee last raced at 25.8kgs.

Podmore, the representative of the greyhound Creative Love regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Creative Love was vetted and re-vetted following event 9. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury and left shin soreness, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Creative Love with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Podmore pleaded guilty to the charge, Creative Love was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Modern Jagger was slow to begin.

An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Hurricane Dylan engaged in this event on 30 July 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

General Missy was quick to begin.  Spring Silver and Firework Joey were very slow to begin (4 lengths).

Hurricane Dylan was vetted and re-vetted following event 12.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle injury and a spike wound to the rind hind foot, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr D. Despard, the trainer of the greyhound Hurricane Dylan.  Stewards deemed the performance of Hurricane Dylan unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Hurricane Dylan must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Swag was vetted and re-vetted following the 11.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Formosa, the trainer of the greyhound Swag regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Swag with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Formosa pleaded guilty to the charge, Swag was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Parabale was a late scratching at 7:36pm on 1/08/2018 due to a right shoulder injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Sharon's Gold and Sweet Spolly were quick to begin.  Molly The Lolly was slow to begin.

Sweet Spolly crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Sharon's Gold and Urban Image.  Sharon's Gold checked off Sweet Spolly approaching the first turn.  Urban Image galloped on Aeroplane Bella on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Sharon's Gold and White Fernando collided entering the home straight.

Urban Image was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right front torn nail, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Aeroplane Bella was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left calf injury and an abrasion to the left hind, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Bont's Magic trialled over the 400mtrs from box 1, weight 30.8kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.82, the greyhound won by a margin of 3 1/2 lengths. Bont's Magic was Cleared.
