Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Kirabilli Poppy.
Frosty Snowman was slow to begin.
Maximum Bliss was quick to begin.
Kirabilli Poppy and Smart Mary collided approaching the first turn checking Smart Mary. Scott Pizzazz, Frosty Snowman and Smart Mary collided on the first turn severly checking Scott Pizzazz. Smart Mary checked off Kirabilli Poppy in the home straight.
Scott Pizzazz was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured toe and a injury to the left quadriceps, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Meeting Comments:
Re-Vetted Greyhound - Raloo Barbara was presented for a re-vet at the conclusion of kennelling and was cleared to race. Acting under GAR83, Stewards directed that a urine sample be taken from the greyhound.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr D Brennan, the trainer of Far Sighted regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Far Sighted last raced on 24th December 2018. Mr D Brennan stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a stopper injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Far Sighted trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 33.2kg, the greyhound was placed second in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.56, the greyhound was beaten a margin of neck. Far Sighted was Not Cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms D Carr, the trainer of Puzzles regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Puzzles last raced on 27th December 2018. Ms Carr stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Puzzles trialled over the 390m from box 6, weight 27.9kg , the greyhound was placed third in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.56, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.5L Puzzles was Cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms S Galea, the trainer of Vancouver Star regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Vancouver Star last raced on 27th February 2018. Ms Galea stated that the greyhound was returing to racing following a back muscle injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Vancouver Star trialled over the 390m from box 8, weight 32.5kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.56, the greyhound won by a margin of a neck. Vancouver Star was Cleared.
