Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Zipping Mulga upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Pre-race samples were taken from On The Take and Giant Jarvis.
Tye Me Over was slow to begin. Black Zambesi shifted in soon after the start, checking On The Take and Zipping Mulga. Strength To Wyn and On The Take collided approaching the first turn. Strength To Wyn, On The Take and Black Zambesi collided on the first turn, checking Strength To Wyn, Zipping Mulga, La Vagabonde and Tye Me Over. Zipping Mulga eased, shifted outwards, turned its head and collided with On The Take and Black Zambesi in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr Benjamin Divirgilio, the representative of the greyhound Zipping Mulga regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Zipping Mulga was vetted and re-vetted following race nine. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a cervico-thoracic injury, a five day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Zipping Mulga with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Divirgilio pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Mulga was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
