The closing time for kennelling was extended for operational reasons.

Lucina Motief was a late scratching at 11:22 am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to a left foreleg split webbing injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Pre-race samples were taken from Onions O'Reilly and Avatar Willow.

Just Over and Onions O'Reilly were quick to begin.  Avatar William and Crymelon Victory collided soon after the start.  Korzy Girl and Iron Ryan collided approaching the first turn.  Iron Ryan and Avatar Willow collided on the first turn.  Korzy Girl and Avatar Willow collided on the first turn; Avatar Willow stumbled and lost ground as a result.  Just Over and Crymelon Victory raced tightly and collided several times approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Avatar Willow was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Cindy's Mate was quick to begin.  Kurtis Pandora and Attack Plan were slow to begin.  Crymelon You Cro, Attack Plan and Crymelon Zest collided soon after the start.  Crymelon You Cro and Crymelon Zest collided on the first turn.

Artistic Genius and Go Barny Go were quick to begin.  Miami Fernando was slow to begin.  Go Barny Go and Swansea Ceri collided soon after the start.  Miami Fernando checked of the heels of Swansea Ceri on the first turn.  Urban Ruler galloped on the heels of Artistic Genius on the first turn.  Urban Ruler and Miss Luna Girl collided on the first turn, checking Go Barny Go.  Go Barny Go and Swansea Ceri collided approaching the home turn.

Mo Dragon was slow to begin.  Remain Seated, Don's Machine, Swift Trent and Mo Dragon collided on the first turn, checking Swift Trent.  Remain Seated checked off Don's Machine approaching the home turn.  One Step Ahead raced wide on the home turn.  Mo Dragon and Dodge An' Steele collided entering the home straight.

Pre-race samples were taken from Magic Vogue and Ido Voodoo.

Backin' Bully was quick to begin.  Magic Vogue and Ido Voodoo were slow to begin.  Magic Vogue stumbled at box rise.  Headspace and Lost Love collided soon after the start.  Backin' Bully and Mepunga Dasha collided on the first turn.  Kouta And Cream checked off the heels of Backin' Bully on the first turn.  Kouta And Cream galloped on the heels of Mepunga Dasha on the first turn.  Avatar Sparkle checked off the heels of Kouta And Cream on the home turn.

Backin' Bully was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hock.  No stand down period was imposed.

Headspace, which fell in the catching pen, was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained right foreleg monkey muscle and bips injuries, a five day stand down period was imposed.

Samples were taken from the placegetters - Backin' Bully (winner) and Avatar Sparkle (unplaced).

A pre-race sample was taken from Zipping Mulga upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Pre-race samples were taken from On The Take and Giant Jarvis.

Tye Me Over was slow to begin.  Black Zambesi shifted in soon after the start, checking On The Take and Zipping Mulga.  Strength To Wyn and On The Take collided approaching the first turn.  Strength To Wyn, On The Take and Black Zambesi collided on the first turn, checking Strength To Wyn, Zipping Mulga, La Vagabonde and Tye Me Over.  Zipping Mulga eased, shifted outwards, turned its head and collided with On The Take and Black Zambesi in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Benjamin Divirgilio, the representative of the greyhound Zipping Mulga regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Zipping Mulga was vetted and re-vetted following race nine.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a cervico-thoracic injury, a five day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Zipping Mulga with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Divirgilio pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Mulga was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

Pre-race samples were taken from Faster Bolt and Jar Man upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Pre-race samples were taken from Fernando Drums and Crymelon Kit.

Crymelon Kit checked off Atlantic Rose on the first turn.  Faster Bolt raced wide from the first turn to the home turn.  Jar Man raced wide on the home turn.  Kiss Me Boss faltered in the home straight, fell and failed to finish.

Kiss Me Boss was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a suspected vascular incident and was humanely euthanased.  As a result, Stewards took a sample from the greyhound and an autopsy will be conducted in accordance with GAR 78.

A pre-race sample was taken from Bacardi Breezer upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Pre-race samples were taken from Zipping Hawk and Patchie Thief.

Samsonite checked off Hunkapapa approaching the first turn.  Samsonite, Maharani and Onya Teddy collided on the first turn, checking Maharani and Onya Teddy.  Patchie Thief checked off Bottoms Up approaching the home turn.  Bacardi Breezer checked off Samsonite on the home turn.  Patchie Thief and Bacardi Breezer collided in the home straight, checking Patchie Thief.

Pre-race samples were taken from Blackpool Ivy and Lezak upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Lezak was a late scratching at 2:36 pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to a left foreleg stopper injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately one and a half minutes due to operational requirements.

Sorenstam and Luke's Gift were slow to begin.  Plumcad, Menindee and Hilux collided approaching the first turn, checking Menindee.  Menindee crossed to the rail appraoching the home turn, checking Master Reid.  Voodoo Hustler and Luke's Gift collided in the home straight.  Menindee and Luke's Gift collided in the home straight.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Brock Wilson, the trainer of  Monaleen Tex, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Mr Wilson stated that the greyhound had changed kennels.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Monaleen Tex trialled over the 410m from box two, weight 34.5 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 24:39 the greyhound won by a margin of 10.5 lengths.  Monaleen Tex was Cleared.
