Montey Jack was slow to begin.
High Kings crossed to the inside soon after the start colliding with Elite Poppy and Tansy and severely checking Elite Poppy who stumbled and lost ground to the result. Montey Jack, Mepunga Sparkle and Aston Tequila collided from the 300m mark to the 250m mark. Montey Jack and Mepunga Sparkle collided at the 50m mark and approaching the winning post.
A post-race sample was taken from Tansy - the winner of the event.
Elite Poppy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected.
