Steward's Report
The outside temperature at race start time was 29.2 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.0 degrees.
A pre-race sample was taken from Pietra Allen.
Ballistic Yaala, Riley's Paige and Callister were quick to begin. Molly Coaster was slow to begin.
Pietra Allen and New Samsation collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Pietra Allen. Wok Fried Yabby and Pietra Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Pietra Allen. Riley's Paige checked off Callister on the first turn checking Tyche Diamond. Wok Fried Yabby and Molly Coaster collided on the first turn. Pietra Allen and Molly Coaster collided on the first turn checking Molly Coaster. New Samsation checked off Riley's Paige entering the back straight. Riley's Paige and Callister collided on the third turn checking Riley's Paige. Tyche Diamond faltered in the home straight. Ballistic Yaala and Callister collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Tyche Diamond was vetted following the event and was found to have a laceration to the right ear, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr Graham James regarding the greyhounds race manner approaching the winning post. After watching the official replays, acting on their own observations, taking evidence from Mr James and viewing the injury sustained Stewards took no action against the greyhound.
