Steward's Report
This meeting is deemed Hot Weather Affected. The outside temperature when kennels closed at 6.37pm was 28.8 degrees. The kennel temperature at close of kennels was 18.3 degrees.
The outside temperature at race start time was 28.9 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 17.3 degrees.
Franki Jay was slow to begin.
Golden Devil, Saint West and Positive Gearing collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn checking Saint West and Positive Gearing. Saint West checked off Positive Gearing approaching the seconds turn. Positive Gearing raced greenly approaching the home turn. Golden Devil and Saint West collided entering the home straight.
Positive Gearing was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left back muscle injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr R. Moore regarding the direction that the greyhound Hot Finish be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
