Lucy's Milo and Alta Linea collided soon after the start.  Lektra Zephyr raced wide soon after the start.  Aston Utah and Lagoon Rhett collided on the first turn.  Lektra Zephyr and Vital Force collided on the first turn causing both greyhounds to race wide.  Aston Utah and Lagoon Rhett collided approaching the second turn.  She's A Mitzi, Aston Utah and She Will Bloom collided on the second turn checking She Will Bloom causing She Will Bloom to lose ground and collided with Lucy's Milo.  Lektra Zephyr and Vital Force collided entering the back straight.  Aston Utah checked off Lagoon Rhett in the back straight.  Alta Linea checked off She's A Mitzi in the back straight.  She's A Mitzi and Alta Linea collided on the third turn checking She's A Mitzi causing She Will Bloom to check off She's A Mitzi.  Vital Force and Aston Utah collided on the home turn.

She Will Bloom was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left front foot, no stand down period was imposed.

Sisco Dun and Dyna Bonnay collided soon after the start.  Water Colour and Turbo Tony collided soon after the start.  Jeda's Girl and Turbo Tony collided on the first turn.  Sisco Dun and Water Colour collided entering the back straight.  Charging Yaala checked off Red Hot Chevy in the back straight.  Charging Yaala and Red Hot Chevy collided on the third turn, approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Turbo Tony and Red Hot Chevy collided in the home straight.

Charging Yaala was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Trainer Brooke Ennis in regards to Charging Yaala’s racing manners approaching the home turn. Upon reviewing the available race footage and taking into account Mrs Ennis submission, Stewards took no further action.

Maverick Typhoon and Kraken Dust were slow to begin.

Head Loch and Wilbury collided soon after the start.  Why Not Ginger and Yuko collided on the first turn.  Maverick Typhoon and Kraken Dust collided on the first turn.  Head Loch and Yuko collided on the second turn.  Maverick Typhoon and Kraken Dust collided entering the back straight causing both greyhounds to race wide.  Why Not Ginger and Wilbury collided entering the back straight and again on the third turn.  Yuko and Kraken Dust collided on the third turn checking Yuko and causing Maverick Typhoon to check off Yuko.  Why Not Ginger checked off Wilbury approaching the home turn.  Maverick Typhoon and Yuko collided on the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from McIvor Verna.

Zipping Galon and McIvor Verna collided approaching the first turn.  Bonnie Beauty and Peppertide collided on the first turn checking Bonnie Beauty causing Bonnie Beauty, Zipping Galon and McIvor Verna to collide.  Peppertide and Sweet Bourbski collided approaching the second turn.  McIvor Verna and Bonnie Beauty collided approaching the second turn checking McIvor Verna causing McIvor Verna to race wide and started to commence to lose ground.  Zipping Galon checked off Sweet Bourbski on the third turn.  Midnight Mystery and Mepunga Debbie collided entering the back straight.

McIvor Verna was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right trapezius injury and diaphragmatic flutter, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr R. Douglas and acting under GAR 75 (1) Mr Douglas was advised to the report to the Stewards as soon as practical anything that might have affected the running of McIvor Verna which was not noted by the Stewards during or immediately after the event. Mr Douglas stated that he has previously spoken with the owner and advised that retirement maybe suitable for this greyhound.

Supplementary Report - 1/2/2019

In accordance with GAR75(1) Stewards on 1/2/2019,  received a phone call from the trainer of the greyhound Mcivor Verna, Mr R. Douglas, stating the he felt the nature of the injury appears more serious than first indicated, and the greyhound will likely be retired.

Stewards spoke further with Mr R Douglas regarding the the greyhound Mcivor Verna, who indicated that he discovered the greyhound sustained a serious injury to the right hock, and will be retired. 

Dewana Special and Soda King collided soon after the start.  Hone In and Pink Floyd collided soon after the start.  Soda King, Go Seek Heidi and Hone In collided on the first turn.  Pink Floyd raced wide on the first turn.  Dewana Special checked off Go Seek Heidi on the second turn.  Charlie Cockatoo and Alberto collided entering the back straight checking Alberto, losing ground as a result.  Soda King and Charlie Cockatoo collided approaching the winning post.

Bourbski Bar and Apex Within collided on the first turn.  Black Impala and Billy's Bake collided on the first turn and again entering the front straight.  Black Impala checked off Connor Allen on the second turn causing Black Impala and Billy's bake to race wide and lose ground. Sisco Ride and Connor Allen collided entering the back straight.  My Bro Kade and Bourbski Bar collided in the back straight.  Beckham checked off Bourbski Bar approaching the home turn.

Rapid Road and Yoda collided soon after the start.  Sunny's Kayo checked off Newfire Drewie soon after the start.  Fleur Delacour and Newfire Drewie collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Sunny's Kayo, Dybala and Yoda collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn checking Dybala, Dybala lost ground as a result.  Newfire Drewie checked off Fleur Delacour approaching the second turn checking Newfire Drewie causing Newfire Drewie and Riviera Cruz to collide.  Newfire Drewie, Sunny's Kayo, Yoda and Riviera Cruz collided in the back straight and again on the third turn.  Sunny's Kayo and Riviera Cruz collided approaching the home turn.  Yoda checked off Riviera Cruz approaching the home turn.  Newfire Drewie and Dybala collided approaching the home turn.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Riviera Cruz a post-race sample was subsequently taken.

Zipping Bolt, Nigel Allen and Cloona Lass collided approaching the first turn.  Boomer Blitz and Velocity Alaina collided on the first turn checking Velocity Alaina.  Nigel Allen raced wide on the first turn.  Cloona Lass and Velocity Alaina collided entering the back straight.  Nigel Allen and Velocity Alaina collided on the third turn.  Velocity Alaina checked off Boomer Blitz on the home turn.  Nigel Allen and Boomer Blitz collided entering the home straight checking Nigel Allen.

Boomer Blitz was vetted following an incident in the catching pen.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Supplementary Report

Sandown 24 January 2019 – Race 11 Heatherhill Cricket Club Grade 5 515m

What's Up Skip was required to undergo a post-race veterinarian examination however the greyhound was not presented. After considering the circumstances Stewards issued handler Mr Raymond Floyd a warning pursuant to GAR 42(2) in that he left course without being authorised by Stewards. Mr Floyd was directed to present What's Up Skip to the on-track veterinarian at the Sale Greyhound Racing Club meeting on Saturday 26 January 2019. 

What's Up Skip underwent a veterinarian examination at the Sale Greyhound Racing Club meeting on Saturday 26 January 2019 and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. What's Up Skip has been stood down from racing for a period of seven days.
