Stewards spoke to Mr. W. McMahon the trainer of Oni regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Oni last raced on 28/09/18. Mr. McMahon stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a seasonal spell.
Mr. J. Clay the trainer of Banjo's Affair declared a new weight of 37.9kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Banjo's Affair last raced at 36.5kg.

Vienna Gypsy was quick to begin. Banjo's Affair was slow to begin. Holly's Affair crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Oni. Tegxcellent, Eminence Keroma and Big Brute collided on the first turn checking Eminence Keroma and Big Brute. Vienna Gypsy crossed out on the home turn. Vienna Gypsy and Banjo's Affair raced wide in the home straight. Tegxcellent and Princess America collided approaching the winning post.
