Steward's Report

This meeting was deemed hot weather affected.

Temperature at the start of kennelling - outside 34.2 degrees, kennels 19.2 degrees.

Temperature at the end of kennelling - outside 33.3 degrees, kennels 18.9 degrees.

Temperature prior to this event - outside 31.3 degrees, kennels 19 degrees.

Jennifer Eccles was quick to begin.  Dyna Alexia, Macs Road and Having Words collided on the first turn checking Having Words and Dyna Alexia, Dyna Alexia contacted the running rail and lost considerable ground as a result.  Buck Tooth Bling raced erratically approaching the home turn and lost ground.

Dyna Alexia was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Buck Tooth Bling was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 3, it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right triangle muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. N. McRae the trainer of Buck Tooth Bling regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn and its erratic racing pattern approaching the home turn.  Stewards deemed the performance of Buck Tooth Bling unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71 Stewards directed that Buck Tooth Bling must perform a satisfactory trial all tracks before any future nomination will be accepted.
