Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Brent Merton the trainer of Jaggered Edge regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Jaggered Edge last raced on 18 September, 2018 and is returning to racing following a change of trainer.
Olivia's Peral, Tat Nuggie and Jaggered Edge were slow to begin.
Janray Mazel Tov and Jaggered Edge collided soon after the start. Stage Fright and Lost Horizon collided soon after the start. Janray Mazel Tov and Gypsy Kiowa collided approaching the 250m mark. Tat Nuggie checked off Janray Mazel Tov approaching the 250m mark. Janray Mazel Tov checked off Gypsy Kiowa at the 250m mark. Tat Nuggie and Gypsy Kiowa collided at the 150m mark. Lost Horizon checked off Keybey at the 100m mark. Lost Horizon veered in and eased at the 100m mark and again at the 50m mark. Janray Mazel Tov and Gypsy Kiowa collided at the 50m mark. Olivia's Pearl, Keybey and Jaggered Edge collided at the 50m mark, checking Keybey and Jaggered Edge.
Stewards spoke to Mr Bernie Ender, the trainer of the greyhound Lost Horizon regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark. Lost Horizon was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left sartorius muscle and sacro iliac, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Lost Horizon with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Ender pleaded guilty to the charge, Lost Horizon was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
