Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Shifting Sands upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Mr P. Burky, trainer of Alter Ego declared a new weight of 27.0kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Alter Ego last raced at 25.7kgs.
Flashy De Goey was slow to begin.
Sleepwalk Dance crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Shifting Sands. Alter Ego crossed out soon after the start clipping the heels of Shifting Sands. Zipping Sandy checked off Shifting Sands on the first turn causing Zipping Sandy and Alter Ego to collide checking both greyhounds, Zipping Sandy lost ground as a result.
A post-race sample was taken from Start A Riot - winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mrs L. Cockerell regarding the racing manners of Zipping Sandy soon after the start and took no further action.
