A pre race sample was taken from Tusksa.
The start of this race was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to a Waipukurau gallops race.
Superior Beam was slow to begin. Tusksa and Etiquette collided soon after the start. Etiquette checked off Tusksa approaching the 300m mark. Banjo Milne and Dashing Pace collided several times approaching the 250m mark and again at the the 250m mark checking Superior Beam.Tusksa and Etiquette collided at the 250m mark. Dashing Pace and Superior Beam collided at the 250m mark. Tusksa and Etiquette collided several times at the 150m mark checking Tusksa. Superior Beam checked off Maggie Mikado approaching the 100m mark. Dashing Pace checked off Banjo Milne at the 100m mark. Etiquette and Superior Beam collided approaching the 150m mark checking both greyhounds. Spazzy Blue raced wide throughout the event.
Tusksa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the gluteus muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
