An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Bring The Spring engaged in this event on the 6th December, 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Total Diva a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Misty's Boy and Runnin' Rampage collided soon after the start. Misty's Boy and Bombora Rocket collided at the 300m mark. Total Diva and Bring The Spring collided at the 300m mark. Sudden Call checked off Runnin' Rampage at the 300m mark. Sudden Call crossed to the outside at the 250m mark. Misty's Boy and Bombora Rocket collided at the 150m mark. Millie's Angel checked off Total Diva at the 100m mark.

A pre race sample was taken from Tusksa.

The start of this race was delayed by approximately 2 minutes due to  a Waipukurau gallops race.

Superior Beam was slow to begin. Tusksa and Etiquette collided soon after the start. Etiquette checked off Tusksa approaching the 300m mark. Banjo Milne and Dashing Pace collided several times approaching the 250m mark and again at the the 250m mark checking Superior Beam.Tusksa and Etiquette collided at the 250m mark. Dashing Pace and Superior Beam collided at the 250m mark. Tusksa and Etiquette collided several times at the 150m mark checking Tusksa. Superior Beam checked off Maggie Mikado approaching the 100m mark. Dashing Pace checked off Banjo Milne at the 100m mark. Etiquette and Superior Beam collided approaching the 150m mark checking both greyhounds. Spazzy Blue raced wide throughout the event.

Tusksa was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the gluteus muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre race sample was taken from Emerley Mee Too.

Greg's Prince and My Logan Leigh were slow to begin. My Logan Leigh crossed to the outside soon after the start. Greg's Prince checked off Arashundi soon after the start. Arashundi checked off Yogi Mikado at the 300m mark. Arashundi and Yogi Mikado collided approaching the 250m mark. Greg's Prince and My Logan Leigh raced tight and collided several times from the 250m mark to approaching the winning post. Cloverlay and All You Got collided at the 200m mark checking Don's Just Under. Yogi Mikado and Don's Just under collided at the 150m mark. All You Got checked off Don's Just Under approaching the 50m mark.

Superior Bont and Azure Dragon were slow to begin. Mayor Digby crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Early Special. Party Mix checked off Mayor Digby at the 250m mark.

A sample was taken from Hungry An' Hollo - the winner of the event.

Lottie Biscotti, Bullocky Bill, Prince Mikado and Hungry Heart collided soon after the start. My Mate Wally, Lottie Biscotti, Bullocky Bill and Prince Mikado collided at the 300m mark checking My Mate Wally. Lottie Biscotti and Bullocky Bill collided at the 250m mark. Lottie Biscotti checked off Bullocky Bill at the 300m mark.

A sample was taken from Stacey Keeping - the winner of the event.

Lochinvar Deus and Superior Scotch collided soon after the start. Big Sam Marjen and Gotta Bandit collided at the 300m mark. Big Sam Marjen, Gotta Bandit, Lochinvar Deus and Superior Scotch collided at the 250m mark checking  Big Sam Marjen. Big Sam Marjen and Superior Scotch collided at the 200m mark. Big Sam Marjen, Simply Smarter and Knocka Feller collided at the 100m mark.

Stewards delayed the all clear in this event due to issues identifying Knocka Feller in the catching pen. All Clear was given after the greyhound was formally identified.

Big Sam Marjen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on the right foreleg. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Succession Plan, Wait There, Leica Cali King, Sideshow Marjen and Keep Talking collided soon after the start. Cullquin Bomber and Alfie's Affair soon after the start. Wait There and Leica Cali King collided at the 300m mark checking Sideshow Marjen. Sideshow Marjen and Leica Cali King collided at the 250m. Alfie's Affair and Sideshow Marjen collided several times from the 150m mark to the 50m mark.

Jack Skywalker and Peter Galo collided soon after the start. Anndar Amoree and Bugs Boloney collided soon after the start. Anndar Amoree and Bugs Boloney collided at the 250m mark. She's My Blast and Hot Jean collided at the 200m mark. Anndar Amoree and Bugs Boloney collided at the 150m mark.

Stewards spoke to Mrs J.Torr, the representative of All Bling regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  All Bling last raced on 22 June 2018.  Mrs Torr stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a right hock injury and a change of kennels.

White Minion was quick to begin. Hodge's Lane checked off White Minion soon after the start. Weeona Dino and Doran's Grove at the 250m mark. Hodge's Lane and Uncatchable collided at the 200m mark. My Lil' Angel checked off White Minion at the 150m mark Weeona Dino and Doran's Grove collided at the 100m mark checking both greyhounds.

A sample was taken from Jet Blaster - the winner of the event.

Blazin' Ruby was a late scratching at 4.43pm on 8.12.18 due to an injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

A pre race sample was taken from Buck The Jockey.

Zharnel and Miss Walt collided at the 200 mark. Tobias Kelton, Zharnel and Miss Walt collided at the 150m mark. Groomer McGrath checked off Tobias Kelton collided at the 50m mark. Scooby Boy and Buck The Jockey collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr.A.Norris, the trainer of Capo regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Capo last raced on 4 September 2018.  Mr.Norris stated that the greyhound was resuming from a spell and change of kennel.  Mr.Norris also declared a new weight of 35.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Capo last raced at 34.2kg.

A pre race sample was taken from Chloe Crumpet.

Star Hennessy, Superior Chase and Capo collided soon after the start. Superior Chase, Venus Allen and Capo collided at the 250m mark. Superior Chase and Capo collided several times between 50m mark to the winning post.

Capo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury the left pencil muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Barbara, the trainer of Bear's Legacy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Bear's Legacy last raced on 12 August 2018.  Mr.Barbara stated that the greyhound was resuming from a right wrist injury.

Cartwheel Chloe, Jack's On Deck and Go Wilma Go were slow to begin. Jack's On Deck, Go Wilma Go and Ruby Gas collided soon after the start checking Cartwheel Chloe. Agent Osti crossed to the outside soon after the start.  Spot My Key and Hey Shaza Fozz  collided at the 250m mark. Jack's On Deck and Go Wilma Go collided at the 150m mark. Jack's On Deck checked off Go WIlma Go at the 100m mark. 

Stewards issued a warning to trainer, Mr J. Boreland for failing to have a catcher for Go Wilma Go in this event pursuant to GAR 48.

Meeting Comments

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr J. Egan, the trainer of Our Harley Quinn regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Harley Quinn last raced on 1 May, 2018. Mr Egan stated that Our Harley Quinn was resuming racing following a right wrist injury and a seasonal spell. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Our Harley Quinn trialled over the 300m from box 3, weight 32.7kgs, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 17.08, the greyhound was beaten a margin of 7.75L. Our Harley Quinn was Cleared.
