Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Bloke's Advice upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Bloke's Advice went up with the lids at boxrise. Freak Unleashed was slow to begin. Crash Reality and Lightning Boxy collided approaching the first turn checking Lightning Boxy. Bloke's Advice and Crash Reality collided on the first turn checking Crash Reality. Lightning Boxy and Freak Unleashed collided on the first turn checking Lightning Boxy. Crash Reality and Lady Spur collided approaching the home turn. Lady Spur marred Crash Reality on the home turn causing both greyhounds to race wide and lose ground. Lady Spur marred Crash Reality approaching the winning post.
Lady Spur was vetted and re-vetted after race 9, at the request of the trainer. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left hind flexor tendon injury and sand present in both eye sockets, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Condon, the representative of the greyhound Lady Spur regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn and approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Lady Spur with marring. Mr. Condon pleaded not guilty to the charge, Lady Spur was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sale and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
