Unique Portrait was slow to begin.  Premier Back crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Bally Beckham and Big Flash Marjen.  Unique Portrait, Hotspur Joey, Master Winslow and Unique Edition collided at the 300m mark.  Unique Portrait and Premier Back collided approaching the 200m mark.  Premier Back, Unique Portrait and Master Winslow collided at the 200m mark, checking Unique Portrait.  Big Flash Marjen crossed to the outside at the 200m mark.

Premier Back was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right foreleg monkey muscle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards issued a warning to Trainer - Mr Brent Merton, regarding the racing manners of Premier Back at the 200m mark.

Master Winslow was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained mild soreness to the pelvic region, a three day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to licensed catcher, Mr Timmy Noy, as he negligently failed to catch Premier Back in this event.

Taabi was slow to begin.  Surfside Squids and Dynamic Deano collided soon after the start.  Buddie's Al crossed to the outside soon after the start, checking Lost Horizon.  Buddie's Al continued to race wide for the remainder of the Event.  Dynamic Deano crossed to the inside at the 250m mark, checking Surfside Squids and Punt Road Girl.  Punt Road Girl, All Revved Up and Surfside Squids collided approaching the 200m mark.  Punt Road Girl checked off Surfside Squids at the 50m mark.

The boxes failed to trip the timing mechanism for this event, as a result the Judges hand-timed the event at 17:14.

Ms Sharon Mifsud, trainer of Invictus Helena, declared a new weight of 27.6 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Invictus Helena last raced in a Satisfactory Trial at Traralgon on 23 July 2018 at a weight of 26.3 kgs.

Spring Shower was quick to begin.  Bees On Fire was slow to begin.  Spring Shower crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Invictus Helena and Micky Rads.  Invictus Helena lost ground at the 150m mark.  Micky Rads and Spring Shower collided at the 75m mark.

Invictus Helena was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg pencil/whip injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

The boxes failed to trip the timing mechanism for this event, as a result the Judges hand-timed the event at 16:75.

Stewards spoke to Mr Gregory Carter, the trainer of Why Not Ginger, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Why Not Ginger last raced at Sandown Park on 17 May 2018.  Mr Carter stated that the greyhound was resuming racing following a seasonal condition.

Mepunga Molly and Pinciotti were slow to begin and collided at the 300m mark.  Why Not Ginger and Quena Dee Air collided at the 280m mark.  Mepunga Molly and Dyna Bobbi collided at the 50m mark.

Guns Ablazing and Aeroplane Tippa were slow to begin.  Kokoda Bobby, Regazzoni and Speedy Ryder collided soon after the start.  Aeroplane Tippa, Kokoda Bobby, Regazzoni and Speedy Ryder collided at the 300m mark.  Kokoda Bobby and Regazzoni collided approaching the 250m mark and again at the 250m mark.  Aeroplane Tippa failed to pursue the lure with due committment at the 100m mark.

Aeroplane Tippa was vetted and after being revetted following event 10, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr Ken Bailey, the trainer of the greyhound Aeroplane Tippa, regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 100m mark.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Aeroplane Tippa with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Baily pleaded not guilty to the charge. Aeroplane Tippa was found guilty as charged and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Lektra Guiseppe was slow to begin.  Lektra Guiseppe, Erupt Eve Lad and Rhomboid collided soon after the start.  Keep Talking crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Big Deal and Lilywhites collided approaching the 250m mark.  Big Deal and Adala Prince collided at the 200m mark.  Rhomboid and Adala Prince collided at the 150m mark.  Lektra Guiseppe checked off Big Deal at the 100m mark.  Adala Prince checked off Amlin Freddie approaching the winning post.

Lonesome Spring was a late scratching at 10:46 am on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon, due to laceration injury.  A five day stand down period was imposed.

Merry Magic was slow to begin.  Oakvale Striker and Lanis Morris collided soon after the start.  Lanis Morris and Lady Mikado collided soon after the start and again at the 200m mark.  Merry Magic checked off Amlin Miss approaching the 200m mark.  Lady Mikado and Doran's Call collided at the 100m mark, checking Doran's Call.  Doran's Call checked off Lady Mikado approaching the 50m mark.  Lady Mikado and Lanis Morris collided approaching the winning post.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr William McMahon, the trainer of Alberto, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Alberto last raced on 9 November 2017.  Mr McMahon stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left metatarsal injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Alberto trialled over the 300m from box one, weight 30.1 kgs, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 16:92 (hand-timed), the greyhound won by a margin of 6.5 lengths.  Alberto was Cleared.  Mr McMahon, also declared a new weight of 30.1 kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Alberto last raced at 28.3 kgs.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Chivell, the trainer of Zulu Success, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Zulu Success last raced on 1 April 2017.  Mr Chivell stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being seasonal.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Zulu Success trialled over the 300m from box four, weight 28.9 kgs, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 16:92 (hand-timed), the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 7.75 lengths.  Zulu Success was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Mia Maestro trialled over the 300m from box six, weight 24.4 kgs, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 16:92 (hand-timed), the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.75 lengths.  Mia Maestro was Not Cleared (marred approaching the winning post). 

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Kevin Chivell, the trainer of Funkhouser, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Funkhouser last raced on 20 August 2017.  Mr Chivell stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right shoulder injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Funkhouser trialled over the 300m from box eight, weight 32.6 kgs, the greyhound was placed second in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 16:92 (hand-timed), the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 6.5 lengths.  Funkhouser was Cleared.
