Scully checked off Yappy Allen soon after the start. Hey Aaron, Dyna Chie and Yappy Allen collided approaching the first turn, checking Dyna Chie. Scully galloped on the heels of Dyna Chie on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Reggie Ryan, Silver Cupcake and Quara's Flick collided on the first turn, checking Silver Cupcake and Quara's Flick. Silver Cupcake checked off Reggie Ryan approaching the home turn. Yappy Allen marred the running of Hey Aaron on the home turn. Scully checked off Dyna Chie on the home turn. Silver Cupcake, Reggie Ryan and Yappy Allen collided approaching the winning post.
Yappy Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left back muscle and left pencil, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Silver Cupcake - the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Andrea Dailly, the trainer of the greyhound Yappy Allen regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Yappy Allen with marring. Ms. Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Yappy Allen was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
