Steward's Report
Ruth's Girl - Late scratching at 1:11pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a left hock injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Pursuant to GAR 104(7), Steward Ms D. Barber did not act in any official capacity for this event.
A pre-race sample was taken from Ya Ya Ya.
Star Fever was quick to begin. Mindil Beach was slow to begin.
Threadin' Mikado checked off Ya Ya Ya on the first turn and again on the second turn. Threadin' Mikado and Hedonistic collided entering the back straight. Star Fever and Ya Ya Ya collided on the third turn. Star Fever and Ya Ya Ya collided several times from the home straight to approaching the winning post.
Ya Ya Ya underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left deltoid muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Ben Divirgilio, the handler of Ya Ya Ya regarding its performance on the third turn. After taking evidence from Mr. Divirgilio and reviewing the head-on footage, Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory. Acting in accordance with GAR 71, Ya Ya Ya must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
