Steward's Report
Spearhead was slow to begin.
Franki Jay checked off King Colt approaching the first turn. Khaleesi Girl and Spearhead collided on the first turn checking Khaleesi Girl. Franki Jay and Ivey's Affair raced wide on the first turn. Callum's Son checked off King Colt on the second turn. King Colt and He's For Me collided on the second turn. Franki Jay visibly turned its head and collided with Ivey's Affair approaching the winning post.
Franki Jay underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr J. Moody, the handler and Mr D. Reid, the trainer of Franki Jay regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Franki Jay was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Moody pleaded guilty to the charge, Franki Jay is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
