Track Curator Mr C. Hiscock advised that the track was medium harrowed on 9 June 2019.

Marez Bale, Galloping Eddie, Sweet Harriet and Hadarah Bale were slow to begin.

Galloping Eddie and Sweet Harriet collided soon after the start.  Flying Bella and Marez Bale collided approaching the first turn.  Lektra Desire checked off Queen Harriet approaching the first turn.  Flying Bella and Marez Bale collided on the first turn checking Flying Bella.  Cheeky Jess visible eased and turned its head outwards on the first turn checking Lektra Desire and Queen Harriet.  

Flying Bella underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Cheeky Jess underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Mr Buckley declined the option to have the greyhound re-vetted. 

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Buckley, the trainer of Cheeky Jess regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Cheeky Jess was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Buckley pleaded guilty to the charge, Cheeky Jess is suspended for 28 days at Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Nigel Allen was quick to begin.  Blue Hazard was slow to begin.

Nigel Allen, Episode, Front Page News and Blue Hazard collided soon after the start.  Milo Allen, Episode, Front Page News and Lady Oracle collided on the first turn checking Episode, Front Page News and Lady Oracle.  Front Page News and Lady Oracle collided in the front straight checking Front Page News.  Hardaway Jayjay and Nigel Allen collided approaching the third turn and again on the fourth turn.  Hardaway Jayjay checked off Nigel Allen entering the home straight.

Maggie Mikado and Yuko were quick to begin.

Kintamani and Fairytale Ending collided soon after the start.  Kintamani checked off Fairytale Ending approaching the first turn.  Streak Ahead checked off Maggie Mikado on the first turn.  Maggie Mikado, Ya Ya Ya and Sacre Bleu collided on the first turn checking Ya Ya Ya.  Ya Ya Ya and Streak Ahead collided approaching the second turn checking Streak Ahead.  Maggie Mikado and Sacre Bleu collided on the second turn checking Sacre Bleu.  Fairytale Ending and Another Bling collided on the third turn.  Fairytale Ending and Ya Ya Ya collided several times entering the home straight and again in the home straight.

Flash Fernando - Late scratching at 11:43am on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to an elevated temperature and dehydration. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Extreme Justice was quick to begin.

Celestial Jewel and Tessa Allen collided soon after the start.  Dyna Xarvel and Tessa Allen collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Dyna Xarvel and Revved Up Dee.  Miss Vonshae and Extreme Justice collided approaching the second turn checking Revved Up Dee.  Celestial Jewel checked off Tessa Allen approaching the third turn checking Dyna Xarvel.  Dyna Xarvel checked off Celestial Jewel approaching the home turn.

Velocity Alaina and Palisades Park were quick to begin.  Maximum Lara was slow to begin.

Palisades Park crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Velocity Alaina and Blusain Bolt.  Gai Keeping and Midnight Bling collided approaching the first turn.  Velocity Alaina and Blusain Bolt collided approaching the first turn checking Velocity Alaina.  Gai Keeping checked off Palisades Park approaching the first turn checking Midnight Bling.  Palisades Park and Mahoney Miss collided on the first turn checking Mahoney Miss.  Velocity Alaina faltered on the second turn and pulled up.  Mahoney Miss and Gai Keeping collided on the home turn.  Midnight Bling and Gai Keeping collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking Gai Keeping.  

Velocity Alaina underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr G. Thoneycroft the handler of Velocity Alaina and issued a warning regarding his conduct behind the boxes during and after the event. 

Mr G Doyle was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Class Edge pursuant to GAR 33.

Faraday was slow to begin.

Oshkosh Myles and Eye Will Reign collided soon after the start.  Rik Lee, Class Edge and Eye Will Reign collided on the first turn checking Class Edge and Oshkosh Myles.  Rik Lee and Lightning Blast collided on the third turn.  Rik Lee checked off Lightning Blast entering the back straight and again approaching the home turn.  

Henrow Bale went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Perfect Marshall was slow to begin.

Valletta Sky and Dyna Unther collided soon after the start.  Liss Me Nicki crossed out soon after the start and collided with Dyna Romy.  Perfect Marshall checked off Dyna Romy soon after the start. Dyna Romy and Perfect Marshall collided approaching the first turn.  Valletta Sky and Dyna Unther collided approaching the first turn.  Rockstar Steffi and Dyna Helena collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn.  Dyna Romy and Perfect Marshall collided on the first turn.  Valletta Sky checked off Dyna Unther on the first turn.  Dyna Unther checked off Dyna Helena approaching the second turn.   Dyna Romy and Perfect Marshall collided on the second turn.  Henrow Bale and Perfect Marshall collided on the third turn.  Henrow Bale and Valletta Sky collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Kiss Me Nicki and Perfect Marshall collided entering the home straight.  Valletta Sky checked off Dyna Romy in the home straight.  

Blue Fabianna was quick to begin.  Valita was slow to begin.

Lucas The Great and Abyssal collided on the first turn.  Blue Fabianna and Soda Crash collided on the second turn checking Blue Fabianna.  Blue Fabianna and Valita collided entering the back straight checking Blue Fabianna.

Miss Klara was slow to begin.

Following this event Stewards inspected the track after a significant down poor and deemed the track safe for racing.

Silver Smarty was quick to begin.  Stevie Jane was slow to begin.

Stevie Jane checked off Matilda Mikado on the first turn causing Stevie Jane to fall.  Matilda Mikado and Tiger Dusty collided on the third turn.

Stevie Jane underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind foot. No stand down period was imposed.

MEETING COMMENTS:

The following greyhounds performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial – The trial took place over 525mtrs with 4 required to trial. The winning time of trial was 30.86:

Shifting Sands finished 1st and Little Mia finished 3rd.

Little Mia– Was stood down from racing at Geelong for fail to chase. Weighing 27.0kgs and beginning from box1 beaten by 8 3/4 lengths.  Little Mia has been cleared to race at all tracks except Geelong.

Shifting Sands – Was stood down from racing at Bendigo for cramp. Weighing 27.8kgs and beginning from box 2 winning by 3 1/4 lengths.  Shifting Sands has been cleared to race at all tracks.
