Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Angry Trip.
Sunita Lass and Celestial Jewel collided on the first turn. Celestial Jewel checked off Yogi Mikado approaching the second turn. Yogi Mikado marred the running of Angry Trip on the third turn severely checking Angry Trip. Sunita Lass visibly eased and turned its head outwards on the fourth turn and again in the back straight and collided with Yogi Mikado and Angry Trip. Yogi Mikado marred the running of Angry Trip on the fifth turn causing both greyhounds to pull up. Big Boss Bree and Celestial Jewel collided approaching the home turn. Summer Girl and Celestial Jewel collided in the home straight.
Angry Trip underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left hind paw. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Sunita Lass underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr C. Redenbach, the trainer of Sunita Lass regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the fourth turn and in the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Sunita Lass was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Redenbach did not enter a plea in relation to the charge. Stewards found Sunita Lass guilty and is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Yogi Mikado underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms M. Barber, the trainer of Yogi Mikado regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the third and fifth turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Yogi Mikado was charged with marring. Ms Barber pleaded guilty to the charge, Yogi Mikado is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
