A pre-race sample was taken from Midnight Turbo.
Whynot Luv and Vesper Bale were slow to begin.
Whynot Luv and Vesper Bale collided soon after the start. Almapa Sunshine and Midnight Turbo collided soon after the start. Midnight Turbo, Whynot Luv, Vesper Bale and Flojo Mikado collided approaching the first turn checking Midnight Turbo, Whynot Luv and Vesper Bale. Whynot Luv and Vesper Bale collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn. Shanlyn Spot raced wide approaching the second turn. Mystic Jaguar checked off Vesper Bale approaching the home turn. Shanlyn Spot raced wide on the home turn. Midnight Turbo and Vesper Bale collided approaching the winning post.
Mystic Jaguar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 8. Mystic Jaguar was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the trainer of Mystic Jaguar Mrs Kate Gorman regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. After taking into the account the interference suffered on the home turn and injury sustained the stewards took no further action.
A post-race sample was taken from Almapa Sunshine - the winner of the event.
