Angie Ling and Fernando Lass were slow to begin.
True Detective and Angie Ling collided soon after the start. Unit Bale, Miss Potential and Gracie Blue collided on the first turn checking Miss Potential. Angie Ling and Fernando Lass collided on the first turn. Horus Blue visibly eased on the first turn. Angie Ling checked off True Detective entering the back straight checking Miss Potential. Unit Bale and Gracie Blue collided in the back straight. Angie Ling and Fernando Lass collided in the back straight. Gracie Blue eased, turned its head outwards and collided with Unit Bale entering the home straight and in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Horus Blue underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr G. Girvasi, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Horus Blue was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Girvasi pleaded guilty to the charge, Horus Blue must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Gracie Blue underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right fore paw injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr C. Hughes, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Gracie Blue was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Hughes pleaded guilty to the charge, Gracie Blue must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
