Meeting Comments

Track Curator Mr T. Godfrey advised stewards that the track was medium harrowed on Monday 25th February 2019.

Bakali Jet was quick to begin.  Superior Pal was slow to begin.

Bakali Jet and Yanira Bale collided soon after the start.  Humble Inquiry galloped on Bakali Jet approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Yanira Bale and Let's Roll collided several times approaching the first turn checking Let's Roll.  Humble Inquiry checked off Bakali Jet on the first turn, severely checking Yanira Bale which lost considerable ground as a result and raced wide; checking Muza's Belle.   

Humble Inquiry was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a dislocated left hind toe and a spike wound to the left hind paw, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Yanira Bale was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left hind achilles and paw, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Humble Inquiry a post race sample was subsequently taken.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sabakat.

Cherokee Fawn was slow to begin.

Santana and Sabakat collided soon after the start checking Santana.  War Creek and Nessie Bale collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  War Creek and Nessie Bale collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds and checking Sabakat.  Santana raced wide in the home straight.  

A pre-race sample was taken from La Coconut.

Tim Tam Sam, Make It Midnight and Smooth Roster were slow to begin.

Elsa Victorem clipped the heels of Tim Tam Sam on the first turn checking Brandy Mandy and Elsa Victorem; causing Make It Midnight and Smooth Roster to race wide.  Elsa Victorem checked off Smooth Roster on the home turn checking Make It Midnight.  

Stewards spoke to trainer Ms C. Mcmillan, regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Tim Tam Sam.  Stewards directed that Tim Tam Sam be boxed first in future events.

A pre-race sample was taken from Ernesto Bale.

Ernesto Bale was quick to begin.

Renita Bale and Kiranna Blue collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Blondie Locks and Hadeel Bale collided on the first turn checking Hadeel Bale and causing Renita Bale to race wide.  Muzzily checked off Blondie Locks on the first turn.  Hadeel Bale checked off Kiranna Blue on the second turn.  

Stewards spoke to Ms K. Cottrell, the handler of Muzzily and reminded her of her responsibilities after she failed to comply with the GRV dress code.

Smurf was slow to begin.

Dyna Eleana and Mini Tron collided soon after the start checking Mini Tron.  Butter Chicken galloped on Hopeful approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds and checking Pilot Pete.  Mighty Max Gone and Dyna Eleana collided on the first turn checking Might Max Gone.  Aston Samson and Smurf collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds, checking Mini Tron which raced wide as a result.  Aston Samson and Smurf collided entering the home straight.  Hopeful and Pilot Pete collided in the home straight.  Aston Samson and Smurf collided several times in the home straight.  

A post-race sample was taken from Dyna Eleana - the winner of the event.

Dyna Winter was quick to begin.  Kel Knight and Annaley Rooka were slow to begin.

Kel Knight and Annaley Rooka collided soon after the start.  Holly's Affair crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Lost Blue.  Kel Knight and Holly's Affair collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Dyna Winter raced wide in the home straight.  

A post-race sample was taken from Shanlyn Magic - the winner of the event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Buckle Up Leo.

Buckle Up Leo, Main One and Roland View were slow to begin.

Iona Misty and Karise Fusileer collided approaching the first turn.  Iona Misty, Karise Fusileer, Zero Five, Beluga Diamond and Roland View collided on the first turn checking Iona Misty, Beluga Diamond, Karise Fusileer and Roland View; causing Zero Five to fall.  Buckle Up Leo faltered on the first turn and tailed off.  Iona Misty galloped on Beluga Diamond approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Main One and Roland View collided on the home turn.  Iona Misty checked off Beluga Diamond entering the home straight.  

Zero Five was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right shoulder injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Buckle Up Leo was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right triangle muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Buckle Up Spud - the winner of the event.

Rodeo was a late scratching at 5:56pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to swelling below the left stopper. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Loch Tight was quick to begin.  Bolta Neveelk was slow to begin.

Loch Tight, Empty Chamber and Especial Shiraz collided approaching the first turn checking Empty Chamber.  Empty Chamber and Dyna Carmen collided on the first turn checking Dyna Carmen.  

A post-race sample was taken from Empty Chamber - the 3rd placegetter of the event.

Coconut Gloria was slow to begin.

Unity Allen and Chopping Spuds collided soon after the start checking Unity Allen.  Big Bella, Bide Your Time, Water Pistol and Why Not Leo collided on the first turn checking Bide Your Time and Water Pistol.  Chopping Spuds and Water Pistol collided on the first turn checking Chopping Spuds.  Big Bella and Why Not Leo collided approaching the home turn.  Bide Your Time contacted the running rail approaching the home turn.  Dyna Alexia checked off Bide Your Time approaching the home turn.  Unity Allen and Dyna Alexia collided on the home turn.  

A sample was unable to be obtained from Tory's Rocket upon arrival at the course, a pre-race sample was subsequently taken.

Emma Lakers and Polo Pete were quick to begin.  Tory's Rocket was slow to begin.

Polo Pete crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Racey Rose, Annaley Flash and Ragged Warrior. Zipping Dale galloped on Princess Parker on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Annaley Flash checked off Racey Rose on the home turn.  Racey Rose and Ragged Warrior collided in the home straight.  

Mr D. Graham was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration and weight card were produced for the greyhound Whatta Lady pursuant to GAR 33.

A sample was unable to be obtained from Krypto Jam upon arrival at the course, a pre-race sample was subsequently taken.

Blackpool Remi was quick to begin.  Zipping Benny, Krypto Jam and Superstar Jessie were slow to begin.

Piparae and Whatta Lady collided on the first turn checking Piparae.  Zipping Benny and Happy Rage collided on the first turn.  Krypto Jam galloped on Happy Rage on the first turn severely checking Happy Rage, Krypto Jam, Piparae and Superstar Jessie; Happy Rage stumbled as a result and lost considerable ground. Krypto Jam galloped on Superstar Jessie entering the home straight.  Lightining Seven was vetted after a fall in the catching pen.   

Happy Rage was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left stopper, right medial tibia and right metatarsal, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Krypto Jam was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Lightning Seven was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right front paw.  No stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Emilio's Jet.

Little Rage and Dan's Hopeful were quick to begin.

Bally Beckham checked off Ishmy Barry soon after the start.  Ishmy Barry and Ultimate Amadeus collided approaching the first turn checking Ultimate Amadeus.  Bally Beckham, Zipping Dion and Ultimate Amadeus collided on the first turn checking Zipping Dion.  Bally Beckham crossed to the outside on the home turn severely checking Zipping Dion and Sateesha and checking Bally Beckham.
