Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Grande Fratello engaged in this event on 26 Feburary, 2019 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Belleperi Miss and Spazzy Blue were quick to begin.
Yelredda Saint and Belleperi Miss collided approaching the first turn. Yelredda Saint, Belleperi Miss and Spazzy Blue collided approaching the first turn severely checking Spazzy Blue. Grande Fratello, Dyna Kara and Belleperi Miss collided on the first turn checking Grande Fratello, Dyna Kara, Belleperi Miss and Crossfire Icon. Grande Fratello and Dyna Kara collided on the first turn checking Dyna Kara and severely checking Grande Fratello which subsequently tailed off. Dyna Kara and Joraddi collided approaching the home turn checking Joraddi.
Grande Fratello was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hock fracture and left hind torn nail, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Diesel Turbo - winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Andrea Condon, the handler of Diesel Turbo and reminded her of her responsibilities regarding her tardiness in boxing the greyhound.
