Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Miss Taylor Edwards, the representative of Superior Briz after she initially presented the incorrect greyhound at kennelling for it's engagement in this event. Pursuant to GAR 86(O) stewards charged Miss Edwards with negligence, Miss Edwards pleaded guilty to the charge, Stewards found Miss Edwards guilty and imposed a $250.00 fine. Stewards permitted Miss Edwards to return home to retrieve the correct greyhound which was then presented to the Stewards prior the end of kennelling. Stewards directed that a pre-race sample be taken from the greyhound.
Blistering Betty was quick to begin. Bela Natali, Spolly's Girl and Titanium Boy were slow to begin. Pacific Beach was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Spolly's Girl and Titanium Boy collided soon after the start. Bela Natali, Spolly's Girl and Titanium Boy collided approaching the first turn checking Spolly's Girl. Titanium Boy and Pacific Beach collided on the first turn. Spolly's Girl galloped on Pacific Beach on the home turn severely checking Spolly's Girl, Pacific Beach fell as a result. Run The Route and Volcanic Winter collided in the home straight.
Spolly's Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Pacific Beach was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right thigh injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Blistering Betty - winner of the event.
