In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this event was deemed Heat Affected.  The outside temperature when kennels opened was 32.9 degrees, the inside kennel temperature was 18.2 degrees.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 30.8 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 19.7 degrees.

Nasty Rach was slow to begin.

Shermo Bale checked off Chloe Louise soon after the start. Rapid Highway crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Heavy Fuel. Shermo Bale checked off Heavy Fuel approaching the home turn. Nasty Rach checked off Chloe Louise approaching the home turn checking Heavy Fuel. Heavy Fuel checked off Nasty Rach in the home straight and again approaching the winning post checking Shermo Bale.

A pre race sample was taken from Figure Eight.

Jed Bale was slow to begin.

Jed Bale crossed to the outside soon after the start. Crackerjack Yapa and Figure Eight collided approaching the first turn checking Crackerjack Yapa. Dude Of Duds galloped on the heels of Princess Pulse on the first turn checking Dude of Duds and Jed Bale and severely checking Princess Pulse.

Princess Pulse was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Neptune Allen and Hey Lonely Girl collided approaching the first turn checking Neptune Allen. Neptune Allen was held up for a clear run on the first turn. Hey Lonely Girl and Flash Angel collided on the first turn checking Flash Angel. Hey Lonely Girl and Flash Angel collided approaching the home turn checking Hey Lonely Girl, Flash Angel and Neptune Allen.   

Mr. G. Dailly, representative of Come On Pepper declared a new weight of 32.7 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Come On Pepper last raced at 34.1 kg's. 

Mr. G. Dailly, representative of Dyna Smokey declared a new weight of 36.5 kg's for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Dyna Smokey last raced at 38.0 kg's. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Peach, the trainer of Mother Hannah regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Mother Hannah last raced on 9th October 2018. Mr. Peach stated that the greyhound was returning to racing from being on season. 

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Mother Hannah a post race sample was subsequently taken.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 26.5 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 19.5 degrees.

Mother Hannah was quick to begin.

Cutlass and Come On Pepper collided soon after the start. Gala Bale checked off Dyna Darius on the first turn. Come On Pepper faltered on the first turn and was tailed off as a result. Mother Hannah eased on the home turn checking Cutlass. Mother Hannah pulled up as a result.

Come On Pepper was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a monkey muscle injury to both forelegs, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Peach, the trainer of the greyhound Mother Hannah regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn.  Mother Hannah was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right thigh, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Mother Hannah with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Peach pleaded guilty to the charge, Mother Nature was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Fawn Regrets was slow to begin.

Marcus Will and Ride High collided soon after the start checking Marcus Will. Fawn Regrets and Wok Fried Yabby collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Marcus Will checked off Marcus Joy on the first turn. Fawn Regrets checked off Marcus Will approaching the home turn checking Wok Fried Yabby.

Samples were taken from the placegetters  -

Midnight Hero and Mayor Digby were quick to begin. Miss Pocket Aces was slow to begin.

Superior Bont checked off Shannon Allen on the first turn, causing Superior Bont to brush the running rail. Shannon Allen checked off Midnight Hero on the first turn. Shannon Allen galloped on the heels of Midnight Hero approaching the home turn checking Midnight Hero. Midnight Memphis checked off Midnight Hero on the home turn.

Midnight Memphis was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.  

A pre race sample was taken from Trophy Trophy.

Hazelwood Flyer and Bumble Bee Bolto collided approaching the first turn checking Bumble Bee Bolto. Zoned In and Bumble Bee Bolto collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Khlo Money and Cavernando collided approaching the home turn checking Cavernando. Balance checked off Khlo Money entering the home straight. Zoned In and Bumble Bee Bolto collided entering the home straight checking Bumble Bee Bolto.

Ima Mystery Girl was slow to begin.

Hotspur Joey and Umar Allen collided soon after the start. Big Deal checked off Mimstar soon after the start. Ima Mystery Girl checked off Why Not Maxine on the second turn checking Umar Allen which stumbled as a result.

Umar Allen was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Triple Agent checked off Kraken Katie soon after the start. Quavo and Kraken Katie collided in the home straight.

Ayo Joy was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to left front leg.  No stand down period was imposed.

Bear Left and Charlott's Angel collided approaching the first turn, checking Bear Left. Charlott's Angel and Flo Jo Focus collided on the first turn checking Flo Jo Focus and Bear Left. Typhoon Tessie checked off Baby Huey on the first turn. Baby Huey checked off Charlott's Angel entering the home straight.

Vitaliser and Lost Love were quick to begin.

Mahjong Magic and Why Not Macca collided approaching the first turn checking Why Not Macca. Mahjong Magic checked off Saintly Jack approaching the first turn. My Name's Barry and Saintly Jack collided on the first turn checking Saintly Jack, Mahjong Magic and Why Not Macca. Mahjong Magic contacted the running rail approaching the home turn and lost groung as a result.

Mahjong Magic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

The outside temperature prior to this event was 23.2 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to this event when the greyhounds were retrieved was 19.6 degrees.

Eureka Creek and Quick Finance were quick to begin. Why Not Loz was very slow to begin 4 lengths.

Eureka Creek, Clark Road, Speckie Mckean, Little Lotta,Cassius Monelli and Mr. Delahoya collided approaching the first turn checking Clark Road, Little Lotta and Cassius Monelli. Mr. Delahoya and Cassius Monelli collided on the first turn. Speckie Mckean, Clark Road and Cassius Monelli raced wide on the home turn.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms.K. Thorburn, the trainer of Fab Creates regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Fab Creates last raced on 26th August 2018. Ms. Thorburn stated that Fab Creates is returning to racing from being on season. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Fab Creates trialled over the 450m from box 1, weight 29.0kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.35, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12.25 lengths. Fab Creates was Cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - For You Honey trialled over the 450m from box 4, weight 29.1kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 25.35, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 20.25 lengths. For You Honey was Not Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Double Cross trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 33.4kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 22.93, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.75 lengths. Double Cross was Not Cleared due to the greyhound failing to pursue the lure with due commitment approaching the home turn. Stewards advised Mr. L. Green, trainer of Double Cross that if the greyhound fails to complete one more Satisfactory Trial, Double Cross would not be eligible to undergo further Satisfactory Trials for a period of 28 days pursuant LRR 38.1(f).
