Stewards spoke to Ms D. Coleman, the trainer of Painted Elvry, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Painted Elvry last raced on 5th October 2018. Ms Coleman stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following injuries to both back muscles.

Painted Elvry shifted in soon after the start checking Warrion Warrior, Reggie Ryan and Winlock Intent. Billy Deeds, Warrion Warrior and Painted Elvry collided on the first turn. Billy Deeds checked off Warrion Warrior on the first turn. Layback Cruiser and Painted Elvry collided on the first turn checking Painted Elvry. Warrion Warrior galloped on the heels of Brake Drum on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Warrion Warrior, Billy Deeds and Winlock Intent collided on the first turn checking all greyhounds. Following the running of this event, the judge initially posted 7 as the winner and 5 as the second placegetter on the semaphore board. This was corrected to 1-8-5-7 prior to the All Clear being given.

Blackpool Floss shifted in soon after the start colliding with Lucky Luna and checking Calcaneal. Temporalis and Amanda Lee collided soon after the start. Lucky Luna galloped on Atlantic Jewel approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Lucky Luna checked off Amanda Lee on the first turn checking Atlantic Jewel and Calcaneal. 

A sample was taken from Temporalis - the winner of the event.

Atlantic Jewel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound, no stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr M. Gibbons, representative of Winlock Rose, regarding the scratching of that greyhound when trainer Ms Courts had another greyhound engaged in the event. Mr Gibbons advised that Winlock Rose had been scratched due to an injury to the left foreleg toe. Stewards directed Mr. Gibbons to present the greyhound for examination by the on track veterinarian at Geelong on Friday 22 Febuary 2019.

A pre race sample was taken from Dyna Bella.

Strike Power and Kalani Willow collided on the first turn. Kalani Willow raced wide in the home straight.

Samples were taken from the placegetters - Kalani Willow (1st), Lektra Brandy (2nd) and Strike Power (3rd).

Supplementary Report - 22 February 2019

Ms A. Courts, representative of Winlock Rose presented the greyhound for a veterinary examination at the Geelong race meeting on 22 Febuary 2019, as requested by Stewards. The injury reported by the On Track Veterinarian was consistent with the reason for withdrawal, that being a left foreleg toe injury.
