Blue Phantom and Crackerjack Scott were quick to begin. Serendipity Star and Gentleman Jock collided soon after the start, checking Gentleman Jock. New Wave and Culloden Chief collided approaching the first turn, checking Culloden Chief. Serendipity Star checked off Culloden Chief on the first turn. Honey Eclipse, Someone Blue and New Wave collided on the first turn, checking Honey Eclipse and New Wave. Culloden Chief checked off New Wave approaching the home turn, checking Gentleman Jock. Someone Blue raced wide entering the home straight and collided with Crackerjack Scot and Blue Phantom, checking Blue Phantom.
