Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Bit Fancy, engaged in this event, on 25/10/18 pursuant to GAR 79A.
A false start was declared under GAR 56 on the initial attempt to start this race as the lure driver failed to activate the lure upon the starting signal being issued (green light). The Stewards deemed the delay to be unreasonable and ordered the starting process to cease. All greyhounds were withdrawn from the boxes and underwent veterinary examinations. All greyhounds were passed fit to start. The lure was repositioned, and the race commenced without further issue. The lure driver provided an explanation for the incident which will be evaluated for remediation.
Out Break was quick to begin.
Dark Nimbus and Unwanted Lady collided soon after the start. Carley Bobby contacted the running rail soon after the start and lost ground. Runnin’ Royalty and Out Break raced wide on the home turn. Bit Fancy and Hey Fernando collided entering the home straight. Unwanted Lady, Bit Fancy and Hey Fernando collided approaching the winning post, checking Hey Fernando.
Carley Bobby was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
A sample was taken from Runnin' Royalty - the winner for the event.
