Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Wilburn.
Shanlyn Georgie was quick to begin. Zipping Nitro, Dyna Artist and Seaside Shuffle were slow to begin.
Wilburn and Sanjiro collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Sanjiro, Vostok, Unite Bale and Dyna Artist collided approaching the first turn. Wiburn and Unite Bale collided on the first turn checking Unit Bale. Sanjiro and Shanlyn Georgie collided several times on the third turn checking both greyhounds. Vostok and Seaside Shuffle collided approaching the home turn. Zipping Nirto, Sanjiro and Shanlyn Georgie collided approaching the home turn checking Sanjiro. Sanjiro checked off Shanlyn Georgie entering the home straight.
Sanjiro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right shoulder and humerus, a 14 day stand down period was imposed, and an X-ray was recommended.
Stewards spoke to Ms K. Houlahan the representative of Sanjiro regarding the greyhound's racing manner on the third turn, taking into consideration the injury that the greyhound sustained and the recommendation by the Veterinary Surgeon that the injury be X-ray, Stewards issued a warning on this occasion. Stewards reminded Ms Houlahan of her obligation to report any matter affecting the performance, GAR 75.
