Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Up North Dougie engaged in this event on 24 October 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre-race sample was taken from Riddles.
Faraday was slow to begin.
Mighty Josiah crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Red Hot Chevy, causing Mighty Josiah and Up North Dougie to collide severely checking Mighty Josiah; checking Red Hot Chevy and Ursula Allen as a result. Riddles and Ursula Allen collided on the first turn. Dewana Jayden checked off Up North Dougie on the first turn. Mighty Josiah checked off Ursula Allen approaching the second turn. Faraday checked off Dewana Jayden on the second turn. Up North Dougie contacted the running rail on the third turn checking Up North Dougie and severely checking Farday and Dewana Jayden. Red Hot Chevy galloped on Zipping Dharma approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.
Up North Dougie was vetted following an incident in the catching pen. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hind spike wound, no stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Zipping Dharma - winner of the event.
