Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Winning Broke upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Nigel Allen was quick to begin. Lektra Theory was slow to begin.
Dyna Garner, Vanna Allen and New Samsation collided approaching the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Nigel Allen and Winning Broke collided approaching the first turn. Lektra Flirt and Golden Shiraz collided approaching the first turn. Dyna Garner, Vanna Allen and New Samsation collided on the first turn checking all three greyhounds. Lektra Theory and Vanna Allen collided approaching the second turn. Winning Broke and Nigel Allen collided approaching the first turn checking Nigel Allen causing Nigel Allen and Lektra Theory to collide. Nigel Allen and Lektra Theory collided on the third turn. Dyna Garner and Nigel Allen collided approaching the home turn. Golden Shiraz marred Lektra Flirt approaching the home turn severely checking Lektra Flirt.
Golden Shiraz was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Ellis, the representative of the greyhound Golden Shiraz regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Golden Shiraz with marring. Mr Ellis pleaded guilty to the charge, Golden Ellis was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Golden Shiraz - 2nd placegetter in the event.
